CVE-2024-46872Network attack vector

CSRF via unsanitized frontend redirect paths

Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024

CSRF in Mattermost 9.5.0 through 9.5.9, 9.10.0 through 9.10.2, and 9.11.0 through 9.11.1 allows remote authenticated users to alter Playbooks. Frontend redirect handling uses unsanitized user-controlled paths, allowing a crafted path to traverse client-side routes and reach a Playbooks request with the victim session. Exploitation requires low privileges and a user click, and resulting actions occur within the victim's Playbooks session.
