Local service interruption via double-disabled SPI clocks
Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Power-management error in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt service by suspending a runtime-idle Rockchip SPI device. The Rockchip SPI system-suspend callback ignores runtime PM status and disables clocks that are already off, producing an unbalanced double-disable and kernel warning. The condition requires Rockchip SPI hardware to be runtime-suspended when system sleep begins; the published record reports availability impact only.
