Kernel crash via unchecked crb_pipes divisor
Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Divide-by-zero in the AMD display DCN 3.15 resource path in Linux allows local users to crash the kernel through display processing. The dcn315_populate_dml_pipes_from_context function divides and takes a remainder by crb_pipes while distributing remaining detile-buffer segments without first rejecting a zero value. Reachability requires the DCN 3.15 AMD display path and local low-privileged access; no data disclosure or modification is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
