Service degradation via unbounded uinput slot allocation

Uncontrolled resource consumption in Linux uinput allows local users to degrade service by requesting an excessive number of multitouch slots. The uinput setup path passes the unbounded slot count to input_mt_init_slots(), provoking a large allocation and costly memory reclamation. Access to the uinput interface is required; the request is rejected, but resulting memory pressure can impair system availability.
