CVE-2024-46741Hinoki check available

Local privilege escalation via fastrpc buffer double free

Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Double free in the fastrpc driver in Linux allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through the fastrpc mmap ioctl. The fastrpc_req_mmap error path frees buf after successful cleanup by fastrpc_req_munmap_impl, then calls fastrpc_buf_free on it unconditionally. Access to a /dev/fastrpc-* device node is required; the corruption enables kernel-memory disclosure, arbitrary writes, privilege escalation, or a kernel panic.
