CVE-2024-46722

Local disclosure and crash via first-entry underflow

Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

An out-of-bounds read in the Linux kernel AMDGPU ATOM BIOS parser allows attackers with local access to disclose memory or crash the system. If the first memory-controller table entry requests DATA_EQU_PREV, amdgpu_atombios_init_mc_reg_table reads mc_data[i-1] while the index is zero. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and AMD GPU initialization with the first-entry condition; no integrity impact is reported.
