Sandbox escape via Visuals use-after-free
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Oct 21, 2025
Use-after-free in Google Chrome before 124.0.6367.201 allows remote attackers controlling a renderer to escape its sandbox. The flaw is in the Visuals component, but Google keeps the issue details restricted and has not disclosed the freed object or stale-reference operation. A user must open crafted HTML, and exploitation first requires renderer compromise; successful chaining breaks browser isolation and can expose or alter host data.
