CVE-2024-46691

Local denial of service via unsafe UCSI teardown

Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated May 23, 2026

A denial-of-service flaw in Linux kernel UCSI GLINK code allows local users to crash affected systems through device teardown. The pmic_glink callback invokes sleepable ucsi_unregister() while holding a spinlock in IRQ context; deferred teardown can then call pmic_glink_send() after its link is gone and dereference NULL. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and affected Qualcomm PMIC GLINK UCSI hardware, and the bounded impact is a kernel crash rather than data access or modification.
