CVE-2024-46670Network attack vector

Service interruption via out-of-bounds IKE request read

Published Jan 14, 2025 · Updated Jan 14, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in the IPsec IKE service of affected Fortinet appliances allows remote attackers to exhaust memory and interrupt service. The service reads beyond a buffer boundary while processing crafted IKE requests, causing memory consumption to grow until availability is lost. The IPsec IKE service must be reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.
