Authenticated command execution via newline injection
Published Oct 3, 2024 · Updated Oct 4, 2024
OS command injection in Syrotech SY-GOPON-8OLT L3 1.6.0_240629 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via the management interface. The ping CGI's command parameter accepts a newline that bypasses its ping-only restriction and appends attacker-controlled input to an operating system command. Reachability requires valid management credentials and adjacent-network access; successful exploitation permits device-level data access, modification, and service interruption.
