Administrative authentication bypass via inverted password check
Published Sep 24, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Incorrect access control in IceCMS 3.4.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to obtain administrator access with arbitrary credentials. The loginAdmin method in UserController.java continues authentication when verifyPassword reports a mismatch after comparing stored encrypted data with plaintext input. A network-reachable administrative login endpoint is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants the privileges associated with the resulting administrator session.
