Stored script execution via HTML-enabled photo descriptions
Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Stored XSS in Piwigo 14.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a photo Description field. The photo-editing path stores HTML or JavaScript in the description, and gallery rendering returns that content without neutralizing executable markup. Administrator access is required to set the field, HTML descriptions are enabled by default, and execution requires another user to view the affected photo.
