Private source-code disclosure via group templates
Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 13, 2024
Missing authorization in affected GitLab EE releases allows remote authenticated users to read private source code through group templates. The custom group-level project-template flow exports and imports a private template project without enforcing the source project's membership requirement. Guest membership in the containing group is sufficient to copy repository branches, commits, and tags, with no reported integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=11.2 <17.1.7
