Service interruption via unchecked fid buffer copy
Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Mar 14, 2025
Buffer overflow in v2x00.cgi in DrayTek Vigor 3910 4.3.2.6 allows remote attackers to interrupt service through a crafted fid value. The CGI handler processes the attacker-controlled fid value without checking that it fits the destination buffer, causing an out-of-bounds write. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the documented consequence is service disruption rather than data access or modification.
