Unauthenticated command execution via settings update
Published May 13, 2025 · Updated May 13, 2025
OS command injection in NetAlertX 23.01.14 through 24.x before 24.10.12 allows remote attackers to execute commands via a settings update. The unauthenticated util.php endpoint accepts function=savesettings, and saveSettings() replaces a plugin command before an application reload executes enabled initialization plugins. Network access to the web interface is sufficient; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands on the server and provides a foothold into its monitored LAN.
