CVE-2024-46486Public exploit

Remote code execution via authorization bypass

Published Oct 4, 2024 · Updated Oct 4, 2024

Authentication bypass in TP-Link TL-WDR5620 firmware 2.3 allows remote attackers to execute code through the /ds endpoint. The httpProcDataSrv function treats JSON containing method "do" and cfgsync get_config_info as a special path that skips httpDoAuthorize. Access to the router's LAN is required; successful requests can execute commands with firmware-service privileges, and the published demonstration resets the wireless name and password.
