Local privilege escalation via writable technical files
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 25, 2024
Incorrect default permissions in PRIM'X ORIZON for Windows through 2024.3 allow local users to gain elevated privileges. Dedicated local folders grant common users access to technical files that ORIZON later consumes, allowing their contents to be manipulated. Local access and a high-complexity sequence are required; successful manipulation executes programs with elevated privileges or renders the host unavailable.
