Administrative access via unchanged default credentials
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Default credentials in Tenda W18E 16.01.0.8(1625) allow remote attackers to access the web management portal as administrators. The firmware provisions the rzadmin account with the password rzadmin, does not force a change during setup, and grants the account full API access despite its limited GUI. Access requires reachability to the router management interface from an adjacent network and enables configuration changes and disclosure of the configured administrator password.
