Authenticated stack overflow via unbounded sprintf copy
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Stack buffer overflow in Tenda W18E firmware 16.01.0.8(1625) allows remote authenticated users to interrupt the web service. The delWewifiPic function uses sprintf to copy attacker-controlled request data into a fixed-size stack buffer without enforcing its capacity. Access to the adjacent-network web management portal and a valid session is required; return-address control and code execution were not demonstrated.
