Administrator password reset via unauthenticated endpoint
Published Feb 10, 2025 · Updated Feb 10, 2025
Incorrect access control in Tenda W18E 16.01.0.8(1625) allows remote attackers to change the administrator password via HTTP POST requests. The authSecurityHandler defers authentication for /goform/module, and the later allowlist treats setLoginPassword as callable without a session. Access to the router's web management portal is sufficient to replace the administrator password and gain subsequent authenticated control.
