Cleartext storage in Hathway Skyworth Router CM5100-511 4.1.1.24 allows physically proximate attackers to read connected-device names. The firmware records the names of connected phones, laptops, and tablets without encryption in data recoverable from the external SPI flash. Exploitation requires router teardown, desoldering the Winbond W25Q64JV flash chip, and dumping its contents with a hardware programmer; the disclosed consequence is limited to connected-device information.
