Stored script execution via unescaped SVG content
Published May 16, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Ultimate Addons for Elementor 1.6.28 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through page content. The hfe_svg_mime_types function accepts SVG content without sufficient sanitization, and affected rendering paths output the stored markup without adequate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store a payload, which executes in a visitor's browser when the injected page is opened and can act with that visitor's session privileges.
