CVE-2024-46328

Privileged device access via embedded plaintext credentials

Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in VONETS VAP11G-300 firmware 3.3.23.6.9 allow remote authenticated users to gain privileged device access. The Http_handle object references the settings binary, which embeds persistent plaintext passwords for several privileged accounts, including root. An attacker with low-privileged adjacent-network access can reuse those passwords to obtain full control of the appliance.
