CVE-2024-46280Public exploit

Root access via unchangeable weak Telnet credentials

Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Improper access control in Pix-Link WR22 firmware 117.0 allows remote attackers to obtain root access through Telnet on the local network. The firmware enables port 23 and accepts weak credentials for a root-level account that the normal configuration does not allow the owner to change. An attacker on the local network can authenticate over Telnet and gain full control of the repeater without an existing account.
