Account takeover via unsanitized HTML document download
Published Oct 7, 2024 · Updated Oct 7, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in the management console of Sismics Teedy 1.11 allows remote authenticated users to hijack accounts. An authenticated attacker uploads an HTML document containing script, and Teedy serves the content without neutralizing it when another user downloads the file. A victim, including an administrator, must select and download the uploaded document; the script then runs with that user’s session and can change the account password through the same-origin API.
