CVE-2024-46215Public exploit

Service crash via oversized filename concatenation

Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2024

Buffer overflow in Mercury Corporation KM08-708H Firmware 1.1 allows remote attackers to crash GoAhead via a crafted filename. The sub_445BDC function concatenates attacker-controlled filename data with sprintf into a fixed 9,464-byte buffer without enforcing its capacity. Reachability is limited to adjacent networks; overflowing the buffer causes a segmentation fault and makes the management service inaccessible.
