Stored script execution via unneutralized password input
Published Jan 6, 2025 · Updated Jan 7, 2025
Stored XSS in /media/test.html in REDAXO CMS 5.17.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the password parameter. The endpoint stores the password value without neutralizing it before placing it into HTML rendered to another user. A low-privileged account and another user's interaction are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied HTML or JavaScript in that user's browser context.
