Unauthenticated code execution via upload metadata tampering
Published Jun 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Code injection in Repute InfoSystems ARForms before 6.6 allows remote attackers to upload executable PHP through a public form. The arf_send_form_data AJAX action trusts attacker-controlled X_FILENAME and types_arr values, renaming an uploaded PHP payload with a .php extension. The target must expose a form containing a file-upload field; successful exploitation writes a web-accessible script that executes in the site's PHP context.
