Stored XSS via unescaped hover animation setting
Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored DOM-based XSS in Elementor Website Builder 3.21.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through hover_animation. The Image Box editor template concatenates hover_animation into an img class attribute without escaping, allowing stored markup to become executable script. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, which runs in a visitor's browser whenever the crafted page is opened.
