Unauthorized file storage via missing upload authorization
Published Nov 27, 2024 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Incorrect access control in OpenVidReview 1.0 allows remote attackers to upload files through the unauthenticated /upload route. The Express router invokes Multer without authentication or authorization middleware, stores the supplied file under public/videos, and probes it with FFmpeg. Network access to the application is sufficient; repeated valid uploads consume server storage and processing resources and can interrupt service.
