CVE-2024-4601Public exploit

Administrative session recovery via guessable token

Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Improper authentication in Socomec Net Vision 7.20 allows local users to recover an administrative session by brute-forcing a session token. The /super_user.js code generates tmpToken as a small integer and stores it in a browser cookie that PageTrap.asp accepts for administrative sessions. Access to the management interface is required; a guessed token exposes the recovered session's data-access and modification privileges without a reported service interruption.
