CVE-2024-4599Network attack vector

Remote service crash via continuous long UDP strings

Published May 7, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024

Denial of service in Softros LAN Messenger 3.4.0 allows remote attackers to crash the application with continuous long UDP strings. INCIBE has not identified the affected function or exhausted resource; it reports that the UDP input path processes an oversized string continuously until the service crashes. Attack requires network reachability to the peer-to-peer application's UDP listener but no authentication or user interaction, and the reported consequence is limited to interruption of the messaging service.
