Unauthorized vote submission via forged voter request
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Mar 25, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Projectworld Online Voting System 1.0 allows remote attackers to submit votes through an authenticated user's session. The voter.php endpoint accepts a party-selection request carried by a malicious link or form without verifying that the logged-in voter intended the action. Exploitation requires an authenticated voter to follow attacker-controlled content, after which a vote is recorded for the attacker's chosen party without the voter's consent.
