CVE-2024-45979Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via attacker-controlled reset host

Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Sep 26, 2024

Host header injection in Lines Police CAD 1.0 allows remote attackers to steal reset tokens and take over accounts through crafted reset links. The forgot-password handler accepts an attacker-controlled Host header and embeds that host in the reset URL emailed to the targeted account. Exploitation requires the recipient to follow the link, which discloses the token to the attacker-controlled server and enables a password reset.
