CVE-2024-45872Public exploit

Application crash via insufficient PSD bounds validation

Published Oct 3, 2024 · Updated Oct 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in Bandisoft BandiView 7.05 allows attackers to crash the application by supplying a crafted PSD file. The PSD parsing path accepts malformed file data without sufficient bounds validation, corrupting a stack buffer until the stack-cookie check terminates BandiView. Exploitation requires the file to be opened in the Windows desktop application; the public demonstration proves a crash, not code execution.
