Application crash via invalid PSD pointer write
Published Oct 3, 2024 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Improper input validation in Bandisoft BandiView 7.05 allows context-dependent attackers to crash the application with a crafted PSD file. The PSD parser insufficiently validates file data before code at offset 0x232bd8 writes through an invalid pointer, raising an access violation. A user must open the file in BandiView; the demonstrated consequence is termination of the running viewer process, not system-wide denial of service.
