CVE-2024-45858Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via XML validator arguments

Published Sep 18, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Eval injection in Guardrails AI Guardrails 0.2.9 through 0.5.9 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code by inducing a user to load crafted XML. ValidatorsAttr.parse_token treats brace-delimited text from an XML validators attribute as Python and passes it to eval without neutralization. Execution requires a user or user-invoked process to load the malicious RAIL file, after which the payload runs with that process's permissions.
