CVE-2024-45857Public exploit

Code execution via untrusted pickle deserialization

Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Unsafe deserialization in Cleanlab cleanlab 2.4.0 and later allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted Datalab directory. The _Serializer.deserialize method opens datalab.pkl from the supplied path and passes its untrusted contents directly to pickle.load. Execution requires a user to call Datalab.load on the attacker-supplied directory, after which the payload runs with that user's privileges.
