Cookie disclosure via unset Electron security fuses
Published Sep 16, 2024 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Protection mechanism failure in Mattermost Desktop App 5.8.0 and earlier allows local users to read Chromium cookies. The packaged Electron binary leaves cookie encryption and several hardening fuses unset, permitting cookie recovery and other runtime abuse. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and high complexity; the confirmed consequence is disclosure of Chromium cookies.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
