CVE-2024-45833Network attack vector

Password exposure via enabled login autocomplete

Published Sep 16, 2024 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Protection mechanism failure in Mattermost Mobile Apps 2.18.0 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to expose passwords. The login password field leaves autocomplete enabled when masking is turned off, permitting SwiftKey to retain special-character passwords in its dictionary. Exposure requires SwiftKey as the default keyboard, visible-password mode, and user interaction; the consequence is limited to locally retained credentials.
