Root command execution via unsanitized applog_select parameter
Published Nov 12, 2024 · Updated Nov 12, 2024
OS command injection in SoftBank Mesh Wi-Fi router RP562B firmware 1.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run commands. The setup.cgi handler passes the applog_select parameter into a shell command through SYSTEM without adequate validation or escaping. Reachability requires authentication from the same Wi-Fi network, after which injected commands execute as root and grant full control of the device.
