CVE-2024-45825Network attack vector

Remote service interruption via malformed CIP packet

Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024

Improper input validation in Rockwell Automation 5015-U8IHFT firmware 1.011 through 1.012 allows remote attackers to fault the module. The device processes a malformed network-delivered CIP packet without adequate validation, causing a major nonrecoverable fault. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation interrupts module availability through that fault.
