CVE-2024-45819

Host data disclosure via uninitialized ACPI buffers

Published Dec 19, 2024 · Updated Dec 31, 2024

Information disclosure in Xen allows guest OS users to read host or guest data through ACPI tables supplied to x86 PVH guests. In libxl__dom_load_acpi, libxl allocates the RSDP, ACPI information page, and table buffer without zeroing them before copying complete pages into guest memory. Only unprivileged PVH guests on x86 systems can recover residual host, control-domain, or other-guest memory; HVM, PV, and PV-in-PVH guests are unaffected.
