Root privilege escalation via SSH shell escape

Command injection in Arista Wi-Fi Access Point Software allows remote authenticated users to spawn a root Bash shell through SSH. The SSH CLI accepts Bash shell code from the low-privilege config account instead of confining commands to its intended interface; Arista has not disclosed the exact parser or validation defect. Knowledge of the config-shell password and adjacent-network access are required, after which the account obtains root privileges on the access point.
