Use-after-free in upgradeToRocket handling in Facebook Thrift before 2024.09.09.00 allows remote authenticated users to crash or execute code. Meta has not disclosed the precise memory-lifecycle operation that frees an object while upgradeToRocket request processing can still reference it. Successful exploitation requires authenticated network access and a difficult-to-arrange request sequence; consequences are bounded to process crash or code execution.
