Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped widget attributes
Published May 10, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Graphina – Charts and Graphs For Elementor 1.8.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via widgets. Multiple ApexCharts and Google Charts widget render paths insert user-supplied attributes into page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload; the script runs whenever another user opens the affected page, allowing actions in that visitor’s browser context.
