Encrypted-message disclosure via predictable key-sharing passwords
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Weak password generation in goTenna Pro ATAK Plugin 1.9.12 and earlier allows attackers to decrypt captured RF key broadcasts. The plugin uses a noncryptographic random function instead of SecureRandom to generate the password protecting a broadcast encryption key. Exploitation requires the optional key-broadcast feature, RF capture, and offline brute force; a recovered key exposes past and future messages encrypted with that key.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
