Administrator impersonation via passwordless local DB-Access login
Published Dec 2, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Authentication bypass in IBM Informix Dynamic Server 14.10 on Windows allows local users to log in as an administrator without a password. When DB-Access initiates a local connection, the server accepts another login identity without that identity's password; IBM has not disclosed the responsible code path or validation error. Any local Windows account can therefore obtain Informix administrator privileges and act with that database authority.
