Uninitialized-memory access via unchecked buffer lengths

Buffer-length errors in OpenSC before 0.26.0 allow physically proximate attackers to access uninitialized memory via crafted card responses. Multiple libopensc and PKCS#15 paths omit empty-file, returned-data-length, or file-list-length checks before reading partially filled buffers. Exploitation requires a crafted USB device or smart card that controls APDU responses, limiting the consequence to data handled by the affected process.
