CVE-2024-45605Network attack vector

Cross-user alert deletion via unscoped option lookup

Published Sep 17, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Improper authorization in Sentry 23.9.0 through 24.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete other users' issue alert notifications. The UserNotificationSettingsOptionsDetailEndpoint looks up a NotificationSettingOption solely by an attacker-supplied option ID and then deletes it without confirming ownership. Any authenticated account that knows another user's option ID can suppress that user's issue alerts; the flaw does not disclose data or interrupt Sentry itself.
